Conditionals - okresy warunkowe na maturę

01 · ZASTOSOWANIE

Kiedy używamy Conditionals?

Zero Conditional: fakty: If you heat ice, it melts.
First Conditional: realna przyszłość: If I have time, I'll call you.
Second Conditional: hipotetyczna teraźniejszość: If I knew the answer, I would tell you.
Third Conditional: niemożliwa przeszłość: If we had left earlier, we would have caught the bus.

02 · BUDOWA

Zeroif + Present Simple, Present Simple

Firstif + Present Simple, will + czasownik

Secondif + Past Simple, would + czasownik

Thirdif + Past Perfect, would have + Past Participle

Zapamiętaj: w zdaniu z if zwykle nie używamy will ani would; właściwa forma pojawia się w drugiej części zdania.

03 · SYGNAŁY I RÓŻNICE

if, unless, provided that, as long as, in case, on condition that

Najpierw określ czas i realność warunku: fakt, możliwa przyszłość, nierealna teraźniejszość czy przeszłość, której nie można już zmienić.

If she studies, she will pass. · If she studied more, she would get better marks.

04 · NAJCZĘSTSZE BŁĘDY

If it will rain, we will stay home.→If it rains, we will stay home.

Po if w First Conditional używamy Present Simple.

If I would know, I would tell you.→If I knew, I would tell you.

Po if w Second Conditional używamy Past Simple.

If she had left earlier, she would catch the train.→If she had left earlier, she would have caught the train.

Third Conditional wymaga would have + trzecia forma.

Unless you don't hurry, you'll be late.→Unless you hurry, you'll be late.

Unless zawiera już znaczenie if not, więc nie dodajemy przeczenia.
