Najpierw ustalamy znaczenie.
Rutyna czy czynność teraz?
I work from home. - zwykły sposób pracy
I'm working from home this week. - sytuacja tymczasowa
Tom plays tennis every Saturday. - rutyna
Tom is playing tennis now. - czynność trwa teraz
I usually take the bus to school.
Today I'm walking to school.
I'm reading an interesting book at the moment.
She's preparing for her matura this month.
Nie trzeba w chwili mówienia trzymać książki w ręce. Proces odbywa się w obecnym okresie.
Sytuacja stała czy tymczasowa?
My parents live in Poznań. - stała sytuacja
They're staying with friends while their flat is being renovated. - tymczasowo
Zmiany i trendy
Present Continuous często opisuje rozwijającą się zmianę:
The weather is getting warmer.
More people are working from home.
Your English is improving.
Present Simple byłby naturalny, gdybyśmy opisywali stały fakt, nie proces zmiany.
Always w obu czasach
She always arrives on time. - neutralna regularność
She's always losing her keys! - irytacja lub emocjonalny komentarz
Szkolna zasada „always = Present Simple” nie wystarcza.
Stative verbs
Czasowniki opisujące stany zwykle występują w Present Simple:
know · believe · understand · remember · want · need · prefer · belong · own · seem
❌ I'm knowing the answer. → ✅ I know the answer.
❌ This bag is belonging to me. → ✅ This bag belongs to me.

Czasowniki zmieniające znaczenie
Niektóre czasowniki mogą być statyczne lub dynamiczne:
Think
I think it's a good idea. - opinia
I'm thinking about changing jobs. - proces rozważania
Have
I have a car. - posiadanie
I'm having lunch. - czynność
See
I see what you mean. - rozumiem
I'm seeing my dentist tomorrow. - umówiona wizyta
Taste
The soup tastes great. - smak jako cecha
The chef is tasting the soup. - próbuje
Be
He is rude. - cecha
He is being rude today. - zachowuje się teraz w określony sposób
Przyszłe plany
Present Continuous opisuje ustalone przyszłe plany:
I'm meeting Tom tomorrow.
My parents are leaving on holiday tomorrow.
Present Simple może opisywać harmonogram:
The train leaves at seven.
Time expressions - wskazówki, nie reguły
Często z Present Simple: usually, often, every day, on Mondays, never.
Często z Present Continuous: now, at the moment, currently, today, this week.
Kontekst jest ważniejszy niż samo słowo:
I always drink coffee in the morning.
You're always drinking my coffee!
Matura ustna
The woman is talking to a child.
Two boys are playing football.
There is a table near the window. - istnienie
The people seem relaxed. - stative verb
The man has a backpack. - posiadanie
Najczęstsze błędy
- Przy stałej rutynie: ❌ I'm usually going by bus. → ✅ I usually go by bus.
- ❌ I'm knowing him. → ✅ I know him.
- Tymczasowo: ❌ She works from home this week. → ✅ She's working from home this week.
- ❌ Look! He runs across the road. → ✅ He is running.
- Przy posiadaniu: ❌ I'm having a new car. → ✅ I have a new car.
