CKE wymienia Present Simple, Present Continuous, Present Perfect, Present Perfect Continuous, Past Simple, Past Continuous, Past Perfect i Future Simple w zakresie podstawowym i rozszerzonym. Past Perfect Continuous, Future Continuous, Future Perfect oraz Future Perfect Continuous znajdują się w zakresie rozszerzonym.

Czasy teraźniejsze
1. Present Simple
Używamy go przede wszystkim do faktów, stanów, rutyn i powtarzalnych zachowań.
I work from home. / She usually gets up at seven. / This book belongs to Tom.
The train leaves at 7.15. / I will call you when I get home.
Pułapka: always nie wymusza Present Simple. Przy irytacji możliwe jest You are always losing your keys!
2. Present Continuous
I am working now. / Prices are rising. / I am meeting Kate tomorrow.
Czasowniki statyczne, np. know, belong, understand, zwykle nie występują w Continuous w swoim podstawowym znaczeniu.
3. Present Perfect Simple
Łączy przeszłość z teraźniejszością. Używamy go dla aktualnego rezultatu, doświadczenia do teraz i sytuacji rozpoczętej wcześniej, która nadal trwa.
I have lost my keys. / Have you ever been to Italy? / I have known her for ten years.
Zakończony moment, np. yesterday, last year, in 2022, zwykle prowadzi do Past Simple.
4. Present Perfect Continuous
Podkreśla proces, czas trwania albo niedawno zakończoną aktywność, której skutek jest widoczny teraz.
I have been studying for three hours. / Have you been crying?
Porównaj: I have written five emails - rezultat. I have been writing emails all morning - proces.
Czasy przeszłe
5. Past Simple
Opisuje zakończone wydarzenia i ich sekwencję.
I bought this phone yesterday. / I got up, had breakfast and left home.
6. Past Continuous
Pokazuje czynność w toku w określonym momencie przeszłości, tło historii lub dwie czynności trwające równocześnie.
At eight, I was studying. / I was walking home when Tom called.
7. Past Perfect Simple
When we arrived, the film had already started.
Past Perfect nie znaczy "bardzo dawno temu". Musi istnieć przeszły punkt odniesienia.
8. Past Perfect Continuous - rozszerzenie
Podkreśla wcześniejszy proces lub czas trwania przed innym momentem w przeszłości.
She was tired because she had been working all day.
Porównaj: She had written five reports - rezultat. She had been writing reports all morning - proces.
Czasy przyszłe
9. Future Simple - will
Will służy m.in. do przewidywań, opinii, spontanicznych decyzji, obietnic, ofert i próśb.
I think it will rain. / The phone is ringing - I will answer it.
Will nie jest uniwersalnym czasem przyszłym. Wybór formy zależy od znaczenia.
10. Future Continuous - rozszerzenie
Opisuje czynność, która będzie w toku w określonym momencie przyszłości.
This time tomorrow, we will be flying to Spain.
11. Future Perfect Simple - rozszerzenie
Pokazuje rezultat ukończony do określonego przyszłego momentu.
By Friday, I will have finished the report.
By oznacza najpóźniej do danego momentu, a until podkreśla trwanie aż do niego.
12. Future Perfect Continuous - rozszerzenie
Pokazuje, jak długo proces będzie trwał do przyszłego punktu.
By September, I will have been working here for ten years.
Porównaj: By Friday, I will have written ten reports - ile? By Friday, I will have been writing reports for two weeks - jak długo?
Future forms poza tabelą
Be going to
Wcześniejszy zamiar albo przewidywanie na podstawie aktualnego dowodu.
I am going to study medicine. / Look at those clouds. It is going to rain.

I am meeting my dentist at three tomorrow.
