Spójrz na trzy zdania:
I think it will rain tomorrow.
The phone is ringing. I'll answer it.
Don't worry. I'll help you.
Budowa Future Simple
Schemat:
subject + will + podstawowa forma czasownika
I will go.
You will see.
She will come.
We will help.
They will understand.
Forma jest taka sama dla wszystkich osób. Nie ma końcówki -s:
❌ He will works.
✅ He will work.
Skrót 'll
I'll call you.
You'll see.
He'll understand.
She'll come later.
We'll help.
They'll arrive soon.
Przeczenie
will not + verb = won't + verb
I won't go.
She won't agree.
They won't come.
It won't take long.
Nie istnieje forma willn't.
Pytania i krótkie odpowiedzi
Will + subject + verb?
Will you come?
Will she help us?
Will they arrive on time?
Will it rain?
Will you come? - Yes, I will. / No, I won't.
Will Kate help? - Yes, she will. / No, she won't.
WH-questions:
When will you come back?
Where will they stay?
What will you do?
How will we get there?
Who will help us?
Trzy zakazane dodatki
Po will nie używamy to, końcówki -s ani operatora do:
❌ I will to call. → ✅ I will call.
❌ She will arrives. → ✅ She will arrive.
❌ Will you do come? → ✅ Will you come.
Will samo pełni funkcję czasownika pomocniczego.
Przewidywania i opinie
I think it will rain tomorrow.
I think people will travel differently in the future.
I'm sure you'll enjoy the film.
Maybe Tom will come later.
Perhaps prices will fall next year.
Typowe wyrażenia:
- I think / I don't think...
- I believe / I expect...
- I'm sure / I'm afraid...
- probably, perhaps, maybe.
I think the exam will be difficult.
I don't think she will agree.
People will probably use more electric cars.
To naturalny język odpowiedzi ustnej, np. na pytanie Do you think people will travel differently in the future?
Probably i definitely
Najbezpieczniejszy szyk:
will + probably + verb
probably won't + verb
She will probably come.
It will probably rain.
She probably won't come.
It probably won't happen.
Podobnie:
I'll definitely call you.
They will definitely win.
He definitely won't agree.
I don't think...
Naturalniej często brzmi:
I don't think it will rain.
niż:
I think it won't rain.
Decyzje, obietnice i prośby
1. Spontaniczna decyzja
Decyzja zapada w chwili mówienia:
The phone is ringing. I'll answer it.
It's cold. I'll close the window.
Someone's at the door. I'll see who it is.
I'll have the pasta, please.
You haven't got a pen? I'll lend you mine.
Najważniejsze pytanie: czy zamiar istniał wcześniej, czy decyzję podejmuję właśnie teraz? W drugim przypadku bardzo często wybieramy will.
2. Obietnica
I promise I'll call you.
I'll never tell anyone.
I'll pay you back tomorrow.
Don't worry. I won't forget.
I'll be there on time.
3. Oferta pomocy
I'll help you.
I'll carry your bag.
I'll make some coffee.
I'll drive you home.
A: These boxes are heavy.
B: I'll help you carry them.
Oferta jest reakcją na sytuację.
4. Prośba: Will you...?
Will you help me?
Will you open the window, please?
Will you call me when you arrive?
Will you wait here?
Would you...? może brzmieć bardziej uprzejmie lub mniej bezpośrednio.
Pozostałe zastosowania will
Gotowość i odmowa
Will może oznaczać gotowość:
I'll help you.
Don't worry, I'll talk to him.
I've asked Tom several times, but he won't help me.
The car won't start.
Na rozszerzeniu warto rozpoznawać to modalne znaczenie.
Nadzieja
I hope it won't rain tomorrow.
I hope you'll enjoy the trip.
I hope everything will be fine.
Hope nie wymaga zawsze will: I hope you feel better soon również jest naturalne.
Neutralna informacja o przyszłości
I'll be 18 next month.
The meeting will take about an hour.
The new building will have three floors.
You'll receive an email.
Rozkład nie oznacza jednak automatycznie will:
The train leaves at 6.30. - oficjalny rozkład
I think the train will be crowded. - przewidywanie
Shall I...? / Shall we...?
W brytyjskim angielskim:
Shall I open the window? - oferta / pytanie, co zrobić
Shall I help you?
Shall we go? - propozycja
Shall we meet at six?
Shall we go? może odpowiadać Why don't we go?, How about going? lub Let's go.
Will be, will have i there will be
Przed przymiotnikiem lub rzeczownikiem potrzebujemy be:
It will be difficult.
She will be tired.
Tom will be a good teacher.
We will have more time tomorrow.
Tutaj have znaczy „mieć”; to nie Future Perfect will have done.
Konstrukcja egzystencjalna:
There will be a meeting.
There will be a lot of people.
There won't be enough time.
Will there be any food?
Will czy going to?
Decyzja teraz vs wcześniejszy zamiar
There's no milk. I'll buy some. - decyzja teraz
I'm going to buy a laptop next month. - wcześniejszy zamiar
A: What would you like?
B: I'll have orange juice.
Ale:
I'm going to stop drinking coffee.
Zamiar istniał wcześniej.
Opinia vs widoczny dowód
I think Poland will win. - opinia
Look at those clouds. It's going to rain.
- Present Continuous: ustalone spotkanie, np. I'm meeting the manager at two.
- Present Simple: rozkład, np. The train leaves at seven.
- Future Continuous i Future Perfect: bardziej złożona perspektywa przyszła.

If i future time clauses
Po if zwykle nie will
Typowy First Conditional:
if + Present Simple, will + verb
If it rains, we'll stay home.
If I have time, I'll call.
If she studies, she'll pass.
Nie:
❌ If it will rain, we'll stay home.
Na rozszerzeniu pamiętaj, że will może pojawić się po if w innym znaczeniu, np. chęci:
If you'll wait here, I'll get the manager.
Nieprawdą jest więc absolutne „po if nigdy nie ma will”. W zwykłym warunku przyszłym stosujemy jednak czas teraźniejszy.
Po when też zwykle nie will
We will get up when we want.
I'll call you when I arrive.
We'll eat after Tom gets home.
I'll wait until she comes back.
I'll tell you as soon as I know.
We'll leave before it gets dark.
Po when, before, after, until, as soon as, once w zdaniach czasowych o przyszłości często używamy czasu teraźniejszego.
❌ I'll call when I will arrive.
✅ I'll call when I arrive.
When will...? jest poprawne
When will you arrive?
When will I see you again?
Tutaj when jest słowem pytającym, a nie spójnikiem zdania czasowego.
Porównaj:
I'll call you when I arrive. - zdanie czasowe
When will you arrive? - bezpośrednie pytanie
Nie reaguj mechanicznie na samo słowo when lub if - najpierw ustal jego funkcję.
